What Fuel Do You Use?

Just checking to see if people are actually following the instructions, or if Acura is just asking something unnececsary.

You should add an option for 93.

I figure that it's cheaper here in NoVA that it was out in LA, so there's no reason for me not to use premium. And since I've changed jobs, I don't really drive that much, so my fuel expenses should drop significantly.

Also, anyone who uses 87 or 89 sound off...
I am wondering if it actually does damage to the engine. Sometimes if you put lower octane fuel in a certain engine you start hearing popping sounds.

I use 93, because 91 isn't available in the East.

I've been using midgrade since I got the car, with an occasional tank of Premium. I've had no problems with the midgrade. I do however notice that the car seems to be more responsive when I put in Premium (maybe that's just my imagination) The Acura dealer I got it from says they don't use premium in their vehicles either

I find that hard to believe since all Acura vehicles, with the exception of the base RSX, have premium recommended due to the high compressions. If the dealer is doing that, then this should be brought to the attention of Acura.

I've seen gas stations carry four grades - 87,89,91, and 93. Can't prove it, but maybe I'll take a picture next time.

Again, must be a NY thing. I've never seen that in any of the other states I've been in.

In my RSX S I usually put 91 but with the high prices I occassionaly put 87. I don't really notice a difference. My dealer also told me they put 87 in there cars.

I should have said that I fill up at 94 when prices are around 70 cents a liter. Most of the times is 91. Can you feel a difference? Nope.

georgia and alabama both have 93, not 91. my car has always gotten 93, so it really sucked when i was filling up every 5 days. when i was working a contract in b'ham, i was driving 600+ miles a week back and forth from atlanta. that was quite a toll on my pocket!!

a girl with an acura who's actually glad to not be driving so much

Most car dealerships don't have premium gas at their pumps. This is pretty commonplace

To the person who uses 87 (or even anyone using 89) does your engine make popping noises?
Is there any word on if this is bad for the engine?

I use 91...but ouch itz hurtz the pocket book! 2.50-2.70 per gallon. I'm coming from a 97 Honda Civic that I didn't care what grade I put in, so you can imagine how much of a difference in cost it is.

The Tsx is worth it though!
