2008, an interesting year
I've done some research on the 2008 models that are coming out, more specifically coupes, and I thought the 2008 TSX coupe would be a pretty hot seller. That is until I found out of the other coupes that are coming out in 2008.
Altima coupe, totally redesigned. Basically a poor man's G35. 30 less HP and front wheel drive. And of course the small things here and there, but might be worth picking up if priced at about $28K.
Accord coupe, totally redesigned. Rumored at 300hp 3.7 liter V6.
IS Coupe, no design change, just 2 less doors, however they will now offer a V8 to fight the M3.
Supra, not in the price range of the others (mid $50s), but still hot. Might have the same engine as the IS V8.
I think Acura needs to do something more dramatic with the TSX with the new coupes coming out. I'm not sure how you feel, but I feel as if the TSX is losing it's edge in the market. Bluetooth is now available in even the Nissan Versa. You can get xenons on a Scion. Auto on/off headlights are standard on a Corolla. Maybe I'm wrong in my assumption. Open to critisizm.
Thoughts?

Couple of things.
- The TSX remains unchanged for 2008 so no coupe. Not word on a TSX coupe for 09 either.
- Where did you hear about a 3.7L V6 for the Accord Coupe?
- I've heard nothing about an IS coupe for 08 either. Although rumors of an IS coupe have been floating around for some time I doubt it will happen as soon as 08. The V8 version your referring to is the IS-F shown at Detroit and its still 4 doors.
- Supra, again only rumors and likely no chance of seeing it in 08.
So the only coupes really coming out in 08 are the Altima and the Accord.

1. 2008 Supra...LOL
2. 3.7L 300HP Accord Coupe...perfect, a 300 HP FWD car (not)
3. Altima coupe...chick car. (and another torque steering monster)
4. IS 2-door. Not a bad idea. Toyota is so pathetic these days I wouldnt hold my breath too long for it however.

The sedan with the V6 and the 6MT will do 0-60 in 5.9.
Supporting Evidence?
When making such claims, adding a bit of evidence to support your claims will go a long way. *note* I found these links doing a very quick search on Google and did not spend any time reading them to decipher the validity of the articles *end note*

The 07 Detroit show came and went with no IS Coupe. So while it was rumored it hasn't yet materialized. I'm sure there will eventually be one, but not for 08.

Again, it was only a rumor. And those rumors have been shot down by Toyota. No chance for 08.
You guys need to spend more time in Automotive News in Off Topic. Its as up to date as you'll get.

Leftlane News:
http://www.leftlanenews.com/report-...sc-in-2008.html
There will not be a new Toyota Supra, according to trade publication Automotive News. "All the rumors of the two-passenger sports car's return are false," a new report says. Instead, it looks like the Lexus LF-A will be Toyota's only supercar (pictured). The publication also said Toyota has delayed the launch of the Lexus IS convertible, because there were concerns over its competitiveness. Originally slated to debut alongside the IS coupe, the cabriolet may now be delayed until 2008. Lastly, the report indicates a successor to the Lexus SC 430 will arrive in 2008, using the IS/GS platform and a 4.6-liter V8. It will apparently feature "proportions and stance similar to those of a BMW 6 series."

Dom, I was simply citing examples of what he may have seen doing searches on google and by no means implied that what I was saying actually had any backing. Thanks for clearing up what I posted.

I understand your point. The TSX is getting older. It hasn't been redesigned since the '04 model year. It's no surprise that lower-end cars are starting to pick up the same features that had a real "wow" back in '04. But when the '09 TSX comes out, I'll bet you won't be finding its best features in a new Versa or Scion.
