2005 TSX deals

An interesting note I wanted to let people know. I'm looking to haggle with the local dealerships for a 2005 right now. They're willing to do it, but can't becasue the factory hasn't provided VIN # and they cannot setup conract without those. Also, when the factory provides VIN's, they also have to provide the invoice price. Usually right before Japan ships the car.

Is this right? I usually don't trust anything a car salesman says, but it makes sense.

Can't wait to get my hands on a 2005 CG/Ebony/5AT/Non-Navi baby!

I know both myself and one other person have already made deals for a 2005. They could always give you a "something over invoice" or "something under MSRP" without knowing exactly what it will be.

Waiting for my 2005 CG/Ebony/6MT/Navi baby

This is exactly what I did. I've got a deposit down on a 2005 with the stipulation that I get a price of $750 off MSRP and that total MSRP is no greater than $400 over 2004 MSRP (gives me an out in case they come back at $10k over 2004 or something else crazy). Now my only problem is getting the car in!!!

Actually...no. That makes 3 people in this area getting the same car. Darn, I thought getting a unique car. Might as well just get an Accord (j/k)

Don't put the money on the table until the car is here. You are showing your cards before the dealer bets. Not good.

How did you deal if the published price isn't out yet?

Actually, I initially talked to the dealer about the 04. He quoted me a price but he didn't have the 04 I was looking for. So he offered me that price for the 05. I put a deposit on it quickly. I'm pretty happy with my deal (I've played all the cards I want to play).

He seems like a reliable guy and I have paperwork with the price and a deposit. I don't expect any problems.

Did you guys stipulate MSRP on the cost of the car(base price) and not all the other crap dealers bundle with it to pad their profits (ie. truck lines, locking lugs... etc)? They tried to sell me on the infamous 'protection package' and when I said take it off because I wouldn't pay for it, they ended up just giving it to me. Too much work apprently to remove a truck liner and some locking lugs!
