Is that what you hear?

I hear the new IS won't have HID's.
How you like them apples?

From my understanding, the new IS 300 will be out next fall, 2005. It never was meant for TSX competiton then or now.

I just have always liked IS's in general, ever since it first came out. the 04 model look even more sleek, with the more agressive looking headlights. yomama, you sure they don't get HIDs? don't they have HIDs right now? i wouldnt be surprised if the HIDs didn't come standard, but i'm sure they'd offer it up as an extra feature you can pay more for. i didn't even know that leather wasnt standard in that car until i looked it up couple weeks ago...makes me realize just how lucky us Acura owners are, to have so many standard features.

I think the IS300 is ugly. I can't explain it exactly, but there's a number of them at my command, and the roofline just looks.... strange. Not something I can put my finger on, but I think it looks ass-tastic.

Why don't you wait until 2010 IS300? I heard that it will have "LED tail light" too.

IS 300 comes with HIDs standard since 2001, auto self leveling included.
Mostly when HIDs become standard, it stays that way. I do know the 5th gen Maxima 2002-2003 model had HIDs standard, but they are an option on the 6th gen.

Troll and PW all in one thread - that's a new one.

Like many old models the IS needs rescuing in the form of an extreme makeover. That LF-C derived model can't come soon enough.

My reference to no HID's in the 05 was a joke. I'm sure it will have them.

I agree. Honestly, when the IS300 first came out, I thought the design was very 1990s and the boy-racer taillights didn't seem very Lexus (neither did the plasticky interior).

I think the LF-C's body design is a big leap forward, and hopefully the interior will be worthy of the Lexus badge this time around.

Well, Lexus purposely made the IS the anti-Lexus with it's looks inside and out(stated by Lexus officials). The IS has the lowest age buyer in it's segment and brought tons of enthusiests to the marque that would have went elsewhere. I agree, it is not selling well but it was the FIRST serious effort from Japan to take on the 3 series sedan.

Lexus already showed the GS430 at the Detriot auto show and said it will come out as a MY06 in March or April of next year.
In NY they said that a revised IS, based on the LF-C concept will be out late 05 also as a MY06 car.
The first one is probable, the second I'm not sure about.

Does that equal success, though? Not really. If Lexus had to be anti-Lexus to attract these buyers, I doubt these people are going to spring for a Lexus ES330 or RX330 in the near future. So who cares if they get the youngest buyers, it's not like they'll stick around. Lexus' customer loyalty is high - but it's not due to the IS.
