is the 2005 Acura TSX worth it?

I know this is a biased question seeing as how this is a TSX board. However, I was hoping to get everyone's honest opinion since I am looking at a 2005 automatic TSX which has a markup of $1400 CAD over the 2004 TSX price bringing the total to $37,475 (CAD) + tax.

If you were looking to pay this price and wouldn't get a TSX, what car would you purchase?

Thanks and sincerely,
Richard

EDIT - the price above includes freight/PDF, gas, & air tax

When you say "markup", I assume that the $1400 CAN is just markup (often called Added Dealer Markup"). Or is your 2005 MSRP $1400 higher than the 2004 MSRP?

So the TSX is not worth that. It's worth MSRP, IMO.

I suspect the ADM will vanish as soon as the 2004's are gone... it's a way to clear out the old units. If there are no old units on that lot, then maybe this dealer has a supply/demand thing going... but most of the time delivery has smoothed out to where you can get MSRP in a big city.

The added features are certainly not enough to justify the $1400. The only thing that might help is when you go to sell the car because the 2005 will have a higher resale value than a 2004 if you were to buy one today.

I think he's referring to the additional cost of the 5AT in the 2005 model.

bottom line. i never look at the sticker prices. i start from bottom up. i look at how much is the dealer's invoice and incentatives or rebates, holdbacks, if any and pay no more than 1000 over net true invoice.
for example: 2004 acura tsx navi (USA) total msrp from Acura MFR. is 28990 dealer invoice is 26467.37, and holdback was 854.70, after that holdback, the net true invoice before incentatives or rebates from mfr is 25612.67 i will pay 1000 over this amount, this will bring my selling price of 26612.67 plus tax and lic. and i got it in aug 2003 as a 2004 model.
"take it or i go home" good bye..

Isn't the price increase justified with the added heated mirrors, power passenger seat, and XM radio?

I think it is

the canadian TSXs already have heated mirrors, and i doubt there will be standard XM radio.
so the price increase in basically just for the power passenger seat and the illuminated (uglier) steering wheel controls.

IM not sure if it' "worth" the markup, i would just try and break down the price as much as possible.

i actually wouldn't be surprised if it was marked up that high
have u seen the 05 rsx-s MSRP
it's marked up higher than last year
~34k
really close to 04 TSX MSRP
the gap between the 2 is too close so there gonna widen it again so it's relative like before

I paid a little over $41,000 TOTAL (incl. tax), and I bought the underbody skirt kit, trunk tray, winter mats and wheel nuts.
