Sooner rather than later

(i should preface this by saying that i'm not sure if this is offtopic, please move if it is).

Hey everyone, vasu here. I'm not really a popular/well known board member here. I first heard about the TSX in late 2002 and at the time was a board member at that other site. And then came over here in spring/summer 2003 when we all ditched that board and came to this one. In the past year and a half I've really seen this board explode and seen the popularity of the TSX increase in a way I never thought.

I don't have a TSX, but in that fall of 2002, I knew it would be my next car, for whenever I graduate college. Since I keep changing stuff around that has slipped from May 2004 ... to December 04 ... do December 05. So tentativly, that's when I was going to get my TSX.

But I've kept up reading this board... seeing the pages of new posts between vists go from 3 to 5 to 12 to 20+ pages. The community here really is incredible, and some members I started talking to over 2 years ago!

Anyway, this whole time I've been driving a '98 Accord V6, and was going to do so until late 2005/early 2006 when I'd switch to a TSX.

But this morning, long story short, this happened:

The car looks horrible...so does the metal railing I crashed into and bounced off of. The front end crumpled like it should and literally saved my life. I walked away with little more than some redness on my arm where the airbag went off.

So it seems that after 2 years I may finally be getting a TSX, albeit under a less than ideal situation. So I just wanted to let you all know, esp to those that have seen my name for 2 years now, that the reign of my accord is over, and I'll be joining this wondeful TSX family that I've seen blossom infront of my eyes. </sappy>

Now I can try out those car care tips that I wrote on the new car (stickied in the car wash section of course). Woo!

Yeah i really hope i can pull off a TSX this soon from the parents ... it'll probably have to be a lease instead of purchase since they weren't planning on it until next year.

I'm both excited to get a TSX and terrified of driving it, heh.

Just not sure what color to get now. Black, Carbon Grey or Blue. The grey is pretty but so common and drab. Black is awesome but i wish i could get a ivory interior on it with no ugly wood. The blue seems interesting but I might get real sick of it.

Sorry to hear about the crash. Hopefully you'll be more careful with the TSX. Welcome to the family.

Hey Vasu, sorry to hear about your loss, but now you can look forward to your TSX, which I'm sure will be the cleanest one on this board (I learned a lot from your car washing tips ). Nice to see you back!

Thanks for the sentiments guys... I just gotta wait for State Farm to get an estimate from the tow service/yard that the cops called to haul my car away.

If they total it, i'll probably be getting between 6-9 grand. The cost repair I think would around there if not above that.

I'm really just torn on colors at this point. Drat!

This is not a threat but if you don't get CG you'll be shot.

Sorry to hear about what happened. Who's liable for the damages?

I'm liable for the dammage. No one else got hurt, i was swerving to avoid another car, so i took it all, as did some steel railings on the side of the expressway. I still got a careless driving ticket ... what'd they want me to do, crash into the guy or use the nonexistant shoulder to avoid hitting him?

Hey domn, yeah I'm really excited, I just hope I can get a good enough deal on a TSX to swing it all. As far as wondering where I went ... I never really went anywhere, just didn't have much to say, not owning a TSX and all. So i've been lurking for several months just reading posts.

Nothing wrong with lurking. I often feel now that I don't have much to contribute, but I do enjoy reading the insightful comments from members new and old. Glad to see you'll be joining the rest of us. May I suggest PWP with navigation?

while i think it looks great and sophistcated in white, it's not my thing.

I just wish i could get Black/Ivory without the wood trim, that'd be IDEAL. Black interior here in the south sounds like a bad idea right?

Sorry to hear about your Accord.

It would've been much better if you had the option to trade-in or use it as a beater.

Well anyways here's an ambivalent cheer; "I sorrily congratulate you. "
