I have a 2005 non-navi 6 speed manual.

A common problem is a small amount of "slop" in the drivers seat. The seat can be felt to move a bit when accelerating or driving. Fix is replacement of rails attached to floor that seat rides on.

Another problem is "click" in clutch pedal travel. When the clutch pedal is depressed, a small click is felt. The fix is unclear. Some have had lubrication solve the problem. Others have new clutch pedal cylinder replacement. There is a long thread "clutch pedal creak and click". I can feel the click in the pedal travel when the weather is warmer (70F or higher). Lubrication solves the problem for several weeks for me.

Some have had a door lock solenoid failure. Usually it's sooner than 90,000 km. Mine happened at about 20,000 mi (32,000 km).

My understanding is that the AC clutch problem was primarily a 2004 model problem. I have not had any problems with it. I operated the climate control with "AC off" until I really need AC. This keeps the clutch disengaged. There is no warning of the problem; it just fails suddenly.

I'm at about 45,000 mi (72,000 km) with no further problems.

Hey Lankanboy1, that's a pretty good price, is he picking it up from a dealer or private party? And was it ever in an accident? 14k$ canadian seems low, they're all selling for around 18-22k depending on Navi option and where you're looking.

$14k CAD is a steal if it's not been wrecked/is in good condition... with those miles it's worth $14k USD.

I'd be careful, $14k is really cheap for an '05. Maybe for an '04 but even still that's a little low considering the car just hit 100k km.

yeah my 2005 was $24999 CAD but that was with only 55K km's and navi.
so 14,000 seems low

I can agree to pretty much this whole post. I also have an 05 non-navi MT and these are the only problems I have encountered (37,000 miles). As far as the seat moving thing goes, it feels sort of like a metal plate shifting in the back part of the seat. Makes a slight noise, and only noticeable if you are looking for the noise. I do not think the whole seat actually moves.

The clutch click is also very quiet, but is still present. Started for me around 14,000 miles. Lubricant did solve this for me.

Door lock failure (passenger side) occurred at 15,000 miles. My car was under warranty so it was easily fixed, and the problem has not occurred since then. It was the window motor module that failed. I believe this happened in most 05's before hitting the 20,000 mile mark.

As far as the A/C thing, never occurred in my 05.

The price quote you posted might be a little high ... although i do not know the condition of the car you are looking at. I bought my car NEW for $24,000 US.

Look out also for moisture in the headlights. But you cant really tell until it rains. I dont think putting a hose to it will duplicate problem.

Make sure you do Auto Check also.

There's a link in the first post of this thread as to why you shouldn't solely rely on Carfax. https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/say-no-carfax-very-informative-video-inside-717186/

I've come across the creaky clutch pedal and it'll click sometimes. I'm going to find out if the dealer will lubricate/replace the necessary parts for me under the c.p.o. warranty. It's a bit of an annoying thing but the only real issue I've come across.
