I am having issues with my keyless remote for 2004 Acura TSX. I can unlock the driver side door from quite far but I am able to unlock all the doors only after I get very close to the car. I am not sure if this is standard as I can even lock all the doors from very far. I am not sure if my remote battery is dying or something else. Also, I noticed today that I was only able to open the trunk when I got very close to the car and that after pressing unlock button twice. Could you please help me resolve this issue? I would greatly appreciate anyones input. Also, it would be nice if you could tell me the proper range for the remote. Thanks!

 

Sure sounds like you need a new battery (or batteries) in the remote (after all, it's probably a good 8 years old). I haven't had a problem yet (even with my 05..... amazing), but I know that when I needed to replace the batteries in the remotes for my Audi's (too often I'm afraid), the dealer had to do it, and they needed all the remotes for a particular car to program them. I don't know if it's a dealer item for the Acura, but there may be something in the owner's manual about it (memory ).

 

Thanks for your reply! I ended up replacing the battery, however, I think I am still unable to unlock all the doors from far distance. I guess it's the way the security might be built in. The reason I'm asking this is because I recently bought TSX @ 80K miles, so I don't know if it's supposed to be like it or not! Since you have 05 TSX, you may be able to give me more information after checking your keyless entry remote!

 

Once you're close enough to unlock the driver's door, you should also be able to unlock all the doors, get the trunk to open, and roll down the windows.
