100k maintenance (belts, waterpump, etc.,?)

So my 04 TSX has passed 100k miles. I've already replaced the spark plugs, tranny, coolant and all filters. My question is, should I replace the drive belts and water pump now that I"m pass 100k miles.

Dos of you with over 100k miles, especially the ones 150k miles and up, did you ever replace the belts, water pumps or any seals?

I'm at 128K on the 05 and a little over 100K on the 07 and haven't replaced any of the items you're concerned about. The belts and tensioners look fine (which is the only test Acura specifies) and the there's no service interval on the water pump.

I drive the 05 and my wife drives the 07. The 05 was a hand me down from her as at the time she was driving all the miles. We decided to retire it from the long commute, I'd take it, and we'd get her something new. We looked with an open mind, but we couldn't find anything else with the same combination of equipment, reliability, and mileage (more or less regardless of price point too) so..... we bought another TSX.

hahaha. simba, we only didn't buy a second TSX because we didn't want 2! but we pretty much had the same conclusion as you!

as for the service, even if belts aren't "bad" at 100k, i am thinking it might be worth preemptively replacing them anyways? is that a total waste of money? i wouldn't want a belt to go bad, be in a situation where it's difficult to get right to a mechanic, and have it cause other issues. i haven't decided yet though.

I had the same thought and was ready to replace the belt (I'm talking about the 05), but decided to let it go. It looks fine and I've never read of a belt failure here (in over 3 years) so I figure hey.... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't need the hassle and I don't need another tool I'll probably only use once (of course I may change my mind some day when I'm really bored).

I realize having two is really boring, but we had (at the time) a couple of distraction cars, so we went with pretty much strictly what we needed. Both of the cars are daily drivers, and with her doing 700 miles a week, mileage and dependability are key. There are no higher end dealers near us, and I must confess that something like a Chevy or a Toyota is a non starter. So.... it was important that we kept the real world mileage up, and saw as little as possible of a dealer's service bay. We had a couple of very minor issues with the 05, but her 07 has been bulletproof. And...... she averages over 30 mpg consistently. As I'm sure most here will agree, the TSX is a great car.

yeah. every car we looked at we compared to the TSX. looked at the Jetta and the interior was just too cheap. looked at the audi a4 and it was just too expensive vs the tsx. we are so tainted! don't like the new TL, don't want an SUV, but i love the Legacy GT so that was what won out. And i got the manual so i won in that category too. we'll see what happens with the 06 TSX. 78,000 miles, 75 lb dog, kid on the way. we own it outright this december so I'd love to keep it another 70-80k miles. but now it's slowly accumulating since it's only really driven 6 miles each way to her job. gotta teach her stick so i can leave my legacy home on her off days and continue putting miles on the TSX!

i'm actually about to hit 90K on my 04.. any suggestions for me? All I have done for the past 6 years is oil changes, brakes and tires. No other maintenance.

i think the service interval for belts and tensioner is 120k i believe. Most people (including yours truely) will just have the water pump replaced while you're at it... peace of mind since its not really an expensive part

for your car i would have done these already:
brake flush- 2x
transmission drain and fill-3x
air filter-3-4x
cabin air filter- 3-4x

coolant and pcv valve should be done soon along with what i've mentioned.
there is more, but i don't remember
