06 Ipod Aux help!

Went to pick up the wires for my Ipod to plug into the built-in AUX in the 06 TSX, but when I got home to open it, it's not the right one. Can someone link me the wire that will fit and work?

Thx

Ok. So I messed around with it some more and got it to connect and play, but I still need a different wire, the belkin one does not seem to want to plug into the car's aux and hold tight. I have to hold it in place. Bleh!

Thanks for help

I use this cable and it works fine albeit it's quite long!

$4.29 for a 6ft. long stereo cable from Radio Shack. They also had the 1ft cable but I decided it wasn't long enough. Now I can have people in the back of my TSX play with the Ipod without having to stretch across to the front of the car!

Can you guys control your IPOD from your stock head unit? I can't adjust volume or search tracks from the dash. Only from IPOD.

Just connecting to the AUX port will not give you control of track changes. It effectively is like connecting a headphone to your iPod... instead you are routing it to the AUX input of your Stereo. You should however have the ability to adjust the volume of your stereo with the steering wheel control or head unit knob regardless of you using the AUX input. Do make sure your iPod volume isn't cranked though as this might make it appear that you can't lower your volume enough to make a difference.... though bringing it to 0 SHOULD make it mute regardless of the volume of your iPod.

Correct me if I'm wrong here folks...

If you wanted control of your iPod you have to buy the other accessory ($$$) to connect to the dock connector of the iPod.... unless you have that and haven't mentioned it.

Monster Ultra Low Profile Charger

Hi guys, I am new here (new car in next 6 months, usual suspects), but I have a iPod interface in my wife's Mazda Protege5 (custom interface just for Mazda's). I originally had a headphone cable from the iPod's headphone jack to the car's radio, but the sound was questionable (good but not great).

I got the Monster Ultra-Low Profile Charger for iPod with Dock Connection over the holidays, what a difference. The Monster connection uses the dock connection on the bottom which puts out much better sound (it does not use the internal iPod amp, which can distort music). This way, you get true line-out sound quality. I highly recommend it. I think it is $80 her is Canada but only $35 in the states.

This is similar to the Belkin auto kit, but the Belkin adds its own amp back into the process. You may get line noise and distortion with the Belkin unit.

TSX iPod

How is the sound quality for the iPod in the TSX? I'm getting a TSX this spring, but I have an adapter in my RSX now. It really minimizes the volume going through the adapter even when I mess around with my iPod's settings. I was excited about the direct auxillary jack in the TSX figuring that the sound quality would be maintained. Is this the case?

In comparison with everything else the aux is great quality. Connecting from a base unit like the belkin or monster is a little better to the audiophile ear. Mine being one of those, but the aux is still badass.

Any connector that gives you audio from the dock connector is going to be better, since the dock connector gives you Line level out....the port on the top is headphone level out.

In my old 99 Accord I had Griffin Itrip to connect my Ipod to the stereo, but I could never find a great connection that wasn't interupted by a radio station. But that may be due to me living in the greater LA area where there are thousands of radio stations. The quality on the new AUX hookup in the TSX is great, and the sound quality is as good as the CD quality. Not having to tune the Itrip into a radio station makes such a difference. That was one of the biggest selling points on the '06 TSX. I just wish Acura could of stretched there budget a little further to include the cable !!
