I need to quit reading these things cuz it's just making me more anxious to get the ride already. Went out and bought the audio attachment kit and the pioneer avic-n2 today.

Grand total of money spent on a car I don't even have yet, ~CDN$3500

heh

I've never noticed any vibration on my 04 AT. Nice to see that the DBW lag has been addressed.

I wonder what they did to address it...

I don't have many complaints, but it is definitely an annoyance with my 6mt 05.

Wonder if they also addressed the "jump" you get when going from a coast to lightly touching the gas.

In that thread he said that when he locks the doors with the remote he gets an electronic beep instead of the horn. I have an 05 and I have that beep no the horn confirmation.

Mine honks. It's annoying that it autolocks when you're in range with the remote but it doesn't autolock if you move out of range with the fob. Should be the other way around...

I hope vtec.net posts photos of the glacier blue! His comments are quite promising... torn between PWP and GBM now.

Push it again, it should honk/beep as confirmation.

Jason, is the beep instead of a horn a change from your old 04?

Yes! I love it. My TSX had the horn and so did my '01 CL-S. So annoying and embarassing.

Yup, my Acuras have all had/have a beep, I find horns very annoying. Ever stay in a motel and get woken up at 5:00am when the horns start beeping?

Or in a parking garage where you get bombarded by the reverberating horn echos of DOOM! I much prefer the subtle beep. It's much more fitting of the vehicle.

Stupid question: what is the DBW lag? Is it that "jerk" at throttle tip-in? Also, I like the horn door-lock confirmation although I haven't heard the new-and-improved "beep" on the '06.

I wonder if DBW lag (whatever it is) only applies to the 2004 owners, because if by lag, people mean delay from pressing pedal to the car actually moving, I feel none whatsoever in my 2005.

Its the delay you feel between the time you press the accelerator and the response of the car. Theoretically it shouldn't include throttle response. It should be the delay it takes for the sensors to read the position of the gas pedal and the ECU dial in the right amount of throttle. The AT delay can be quite long (especially if you include the DBW lag, throttle log, and the transmission). An aftermarket intake probably helps. I suspect that the modified throttle body on the 06 has something to do with the reduced DBW lag.

Thanks, jlukja. On my 6MT I don't notice any throttle delay at all when I'm under way and accelerating. I do notice that little dead spot at the beginning of the gas pedal's travel when getting back into the gas after coasting. If I try to be super-smooth, it's like "no, no, no, YEP" and the there's a little jerk to the throttle at tip-in. Good that they were able to reduce it -- I hate that. It's literally the only thing I don't like about the TSX.

I went for a test drive of the 05 AT and the 06 AT at the dealership. I had a really cool salesperson who let me do whatever I wanted with the cars and I had a chance to really let loose on the throttle of the 06 and tossed both cars around pretty good. Since most of you 06 owners are probably still breaking in your cars and haven't really let loose on them, I thought I'd share my impressions of both.

ACCELERATION

I DEFINATELY felt a difference between the two cars. The 06 really pulls harder once you hit about 6000 RPM. I think that this is where the big difference is between the two cars. Mid range, about 5000 rpm, I could feel only a slight difference between the two. So for those 06ers who are patiently breaking in your cars, hang in there, you'll have a nice surprise when you finally can rev your cars.

Another important point, and I think this might have been mentioned before, but the 05 felt a bit notchy when I hit the gas in traffic. I also experienced some lag when I hit the accelerator. DBW??? I did not feel this in the 06. It was smooth and I didn't notice much lag at all. Perhaps the DBW issues have been massaged in the 06.

HANDLING

Of course both model years are the same. I wanted to comment on how impressed I was by the handling. I felt little body roll even when speeds were...sporting. I was thinking about getting the A-SPEC suspension but I am now having second thoughts since the OEM suspension is so good.

OTHER GOODIES

The new features for the 06 are quite neat...ie bluetooth, MID, foglights, memory seats etc. Even though the price increased by just over $1000 in Canada here, I think that it is worth it. The new beefier steering wheel was nice also. Felt good to grip. My only complaint has to do with the sound system. Overall it was very good for a stock system. One thing I did notice was that when I increased the volume and the song had some substantial bass, there was a very irritating rattle coming from the trunk. Not sure if anybody else has experienced this.

Anyways, I think that Acura has done a good job updating the TSX and I can't wait to get one in a couple of months.

Thanks for yor commentsTSX dawg, now I can't wait to take it to 6,000. No, I haven't noticed any rattles yet with my 06 and because this has/had been a common complaint I've being paying particular attention for rattles, squeakes, chirps etc, none so far.

Edit: My AT navi increased exactly $600 over last years model, as you say, some went up over $1,000 depending on model.

Glad to contribute Feliz. By the way, I noticed that you are from Vancouver too. Since we have been getting some snow, I was wondering if you had a chance to drive around in it. How does the TSX handle in the snow? Do you find the VSA helpful?

Yes I have and it works great, as it should. I live right by Coquitlam Center Mall and always head over when we have snow in the evenings and use their parking lot, being doing that since I bought my TL-S with VSA in 2000.

With the TSX being so new I've mostly been fooling with the MDX though but it's not as much fun with the VSA being a lot more intrusive.

Yea, my dealer had about a $700 increase for the Navi AT over the 05, which I hope to bring down to just a $400 increase.

I saw some of your snow when I landed last night. Wasn't too much there but glad to hear that the TSX was okay in it. My Escape is great in the snow and that is one if the things that I am interested to know is just how good the TSX will be.

Go Leafs Go!!!
