04 vs 05

I got a 05 TSX as a loaner today, about ~8k miles.... man, do I realize my suspension are worn. My '04 has 26k miles on it, and this '05 reminds me of the day when my car was brand new. Much much tighter.... I think I need to replace the suspension some time down the road.... possibly with A spec's...

Also, this car is QUIET. No rattles, no squeaking, no sliding seat, no engine ticking noise, and certainly much better than the rattle box '04 loaner I've gotten before...

anyone else have a similar experience?

note to self: don't buy a first model year Honda

Also, for the first time I actually realize that the 2 rolls of Fatmat I put onto my car actually does work.... I've noticed more road noise in the loaner car.

The 04 is not a first model year for the TSX, the Euro Accord was out before the TSX appeared as an Acura in the US

Yep, I took delivery of mine in June 2003. I had a similar experience when I got an 05 TSX as a loaner as far as the rattles are concerned. However, since I have mine lowered, Comptech RSB, Comptech Exhaust, etc etc... I still like mine better.

If you were impressed with an 05, try an 06 and see how it makes you feel.

The MID and HandsfreeLink have made quite the impression on me. Also, the overall build of the car seems better. No more rattles, squeaks, or seat sliding issues, all of which I had develop during my break-in period on my 04. I'm almost through my break-in on the 06 and haven't even heard or felt anything out of place, knock on wood.

^^^Speaking of the seat sliding issue, I've had one develop in mine. I've yet to contact the dealer. Is there a fix for it?

Apprently the seat rails can be replaced, which worked for some people. For others, nothing seemed to fix it. You'll have to contact your dealer and see what they can do.

Should be coming soon. I'm at about 480 miles right now and should be putting another 70 miles on it tomorrow. Won't be long now.

I brought mine in for service today (hence the loaner) and that's one of the problems I've complained about (for the 4th time)....and the service guy told me right up front they aren't going to replace the tracks and said it was normal for the tracks to have some play

What should I do? call up Acura and complain?

and CG, don't remind me of the '06.....I almost got one (with Navi) for ~$5k + '04 TSX trade... so sad....

Well, the '04's are the first model year, whether they were made in '03 or '04.... mine was made in Sept '03 (that's when I bought it too), and it was the second batch (VIN > ~12000) made.

Plus the issues we're talking about are the interior issues, this particular interior (TSX/JDM inspire) came out when they introduced the TSX in the states early '03, as opposed the the first Euro/JDM CL7/CL9's which was introduced in late '02.

Hmm...if I were you, I would call Acura's regional service director and complain. I never could get my dealer to fix the seat sliding issue and after a while, I stopped worrying about it and resigned myself to getting a new car instead.

And how come you didn't go through on the deal? That sounds like a damn good deal, especially since you would have gotten all the new things that came on the 06.

Your right about the TSX, I was talking about the Euro Accord, which is essentially the exact same car as the TSX. They just stiffined the Accord up, added some horses, and slapped a Acura badge on it. The Euro Accord has been around since 02 I think.
