Possible Vss Malfunction, You tell me?

I have a 96 3.2tl Premium with over 300k on it, the motor runs very well but now I have some weird issues. All of these issues may be the same problem but im not sure, It shifts very very hard from 1-2 ( so hard it wil bark the tires at 3/4 throttle) the Cruise Control doesnt work, The TCS light is on, the odo and trip odo dont work. BUT the speedo has been perfect, the only glitch is if I press the trip ODO while driving the speedo will flinch momentarily.
The car also sometimes seems to hunt for idle and it revs 2 or 3 hundred rpms for a few seconds after letting off the gas from normal speeds 45-60. Could this be a VSS issue even though the speedo is good. Im trying to figure this out without having to throw parts at it

Not sure about your other problems, but I have been told that if spedo work then odo and trip odo should work too.

Your weird tranny shifting problem may or may not have something to do with the TCS light being on. Maybe you could begin by finding out what triggers that light to come on.
