Need help please!! Starting issues
Hi guys im new member here, but have been scouring the forum and the entire internet to figure out my issue to no avail. If anyone could help it would be most appreciated.
Ok first off yes I have cel light on as well as TCS, I have pulled codes and come up with P0141 (02 sensor) , and p1316,p1317,p1318,p1319 Which tells me the misfire sensor is bad, I have already ordered today.
Now the issue, The first start of the morning its a real pain, it will crank, not start, i than let it sit and pump fuel, try again around 20 seconds later it will pop off like it wants to start and stop. I will wait another 20 seconds and it will pop off than do a small backfire, the next time after about 30 seconds it will fire right up. I have replaced the plugs, fuel pressure regulator. It has a newer fuel pump and fuel filter as well. I am guessing it would be the crankshaft position sensor, although would this not throw a code?
Once it starts it runs and idles perfect, it drives great as well.
Any start after unless it sits for a long time, is just fine. if it sits to long its the same process. Any help at all is much appreciated.

Is this a 2.5 or 3.2 TL?
The P0141 has no affect on starting. Replace when no-start is resolved.
There is a spark plug voltage detection module that is indicated as a problem by the P1316-P1319 codes. I remember another person w/ this problem some time back. A search may find that thread.
good luck

Its a 3.2l and yes i know thats what the codes are for lol, I already ordered that part. and I know the 02 sensor has nothing to do with starting.
My question was not on either of those issues it is on the starting issue, unless the spark plug voltage detection sensor would affect the starting? From everyone elses experience with the same codes i have never read about a starting issue. The part should arrive next week and I will put it in right after, but I dont believe it is the cause of the no start.

Well my new(used) misfire sensor today, reset the ecu And guess what!! Only one code left p0141 secondary 02 sensor not bad. I'm unaware if the starting issue is fixed, I'll find out Tom when I wake up though... But on a positive note my tcs is working now!!
Anyways the part I removed I figured I would google and guess what I found out someone put an ignition module there.... So could that have caused the starting issue?? I mean I'll find out Tom but I'd like to know. Anyways please help!!!

You could have a marginal intake air temperature sensor or coolant temperature sensor. These may be off enough to cause hard starting. Easiest way to investigate is to use an OBD2 scanner w/ capability to see engine sensor values. Check when cold and see if something looks unreasonably high or low.
good luck
