Motor Mounts
Motor Mounts
Well i just found out that i got a bad motor mount. so am going to replace them. i was just wondering if any one has replaced them before in there TL... Also done it themselves... I wanted to know how much that job would cost and Tire Pros told me it would cost $600 bucks with parts and labor....!
i love doin all the work myself on my TL no matter what it is. I try to stay away from shops as much as i can... Only 2 times my car has gone to a shop is for a flat tire and When i had to get the brake and light inspection paper for the DMV..
... So if any one could point me in the right direction on how much these mounts will cost me and what will i have to do will be a great help... Thanxxx....

I couldn't tell you about the 2.5.. but I know on the 3.2 there's an "oddball" motor mount set up. Basically all you do is drain the oil (I prefer to not put weight on the pan itself and pull the pan), pull the oil pan, get yourself a good solid block of wood to put against it, and then relieve the pressure on the motor mounts using a car jack. Yank away. If necessary, pull the brace and pull the other motor mount(s). So long as you've got your engine jacked up perfectly you shouldn't experience any issues.
