The water pump on the 2.5TL is at lower end of the timing belt cover. You can see part of the pump where the lower radiator hose connects to pump. Pull cooling fans, crankshaft pulley, timing belt covers, timing belt, and finally water pump can be accessed. Don't try this DIY w/o a shop manual of some type.

good luck

They will usually begin to squeak when the coolant begins to corrode the pump bearings. You don't want to wait too long, but you might get a month of driving before bearings begin to fail. I wouldn't cut it too close.

good luck

You should use antifreeze at 50/50 mix w/ distilled water. I've read that cooling is not as good, but doubt that anything horrible will happen w/ pure antifreeze.

good luck

I've a leaking waterpump - I bought an aftermarket water pump when I did the timing belt (about 35,000 miles back). The pump developed a leak within 20,000 miles The leak isn't bad and I keep checking the radiator - every once in a while the level of coolant in the radiator goes down, but it isn't replenished with coolant from the reservoir. I add some pre diluted coolant to the radiator and everything is fine again. I'm planning on having the timing belt and water pump done again. I may replace the radiator hoses too (my car is at 140K).
1. Check level of coolant in the radiator and fill it up if the level is low. Don't go by the resevoir.
2. I'd strongly advise buying the waterpump from a dealership i.e. get a genuine Honda waterpump. There's one for sale on ebay for $79, I bought a new one from the same seller:

The water pump gasket is the sandwiched paper type that can be prone to leakage. It is essential to use gasket remover spray and a razor scraper to remove the old gasket and get a clean surface for the new gasket. I like to put a thin (very thin) layer of red high temp RTV on the gasket to hold in place while mounting the pump. Torque bolts to spec in the specified sequence.

good luck
