Help with P0333 and P0328
96 2.5tl So basically here’s what’s happening, if I slowly press the gas and accelerate casually, it’s normal like it should be. But say I step on it and try to accelerate fast, it feels like something is holding it back but slowly unwinds then takes off in the higher rpms. So basically no low rpm power and way more high rpm power than it had before the cel’s. Seems like a timing issue, which makes sense if it’s sensing a knock. But that’s where I’m confused I don’t hear any audible knocking/pinging. It sounds the same as it did before the cel came on. So I went to advanced and those are the codes it’s pulling. I know their for high input voltage from the knock sensors, I’m just confused does this mean the car is sensing a knock? Or does it mean there is a problem with the sensors/wiring themselves? I already have the intake manifold removed (not a fun job) and I’d like to know if there is any way to test the sensors/wires before I order new ones. I have a multimeter but I have no idea what readings I’m supposed to be looking for..
Also I read somewhere that a bad or failing fuel pump could cause knock sensor codes. Same with out of spec valves I don’t want to replace something that doesn’t need replacing as I have limited money at the moment. It just seems unlikely to me that both sensors failed at the same time idk what to do at this point.. Can someone please help me figure this out I don’t want to drive it or put it back together until I do
