Cruise control question

My cruise control is working fine on my 96 TL 3.2 with 161k miles, just a question about the best way to use it.

My question is it ok to leave the cruise control button in the "on" position on the dash all the time? I use my cruise about 70% of my daily commute to/from work (86 miles round trip)

Not sure why they even have an on/off button, must be there for a reason.

Its ok to keep it on. The on/off button is simply to disable the controls on the steering wheel.

When I had mine, I always left the master button on, and then just used the steering wheel controls when I wanted, never had a problem.

Thanks for the quick replies - I had a feeling it was no problem, but with 161k miles I'm trying to be nice to this car to keep it doing its commuter job...
