coolant reservoir

Gotta 96 tl with 3.2 and noticed steam coming from drivers side of the hood, from the reservoir. I thought it was the hose from the radiator to the reservoir, so I changed it. Still got steam coming from reservoir. Is the coolant system pressurized on the tl? The steam is coming from the 90 degree nipple in the lid (where the nipple goes in to the lid.)

There should be a rubber tube from the nipple on cap to the bottom of the reservoir. This allows overflow to blend w/ fluid in the reservoir, and allows fluid to be pulled back into radiator by differential pressure as the engine coolant cools and shrinks in volume. Replace tube and you should be fine.

good luck
