check engine light

hey ive searched the forums but didnt really answer my question.

if i reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery will it reset my radio as well? i dont know where the code went so i dont know how to get another one

yes it will reset..it part of the battery that turns it on..it could be anywhere..check in your glove department for your radio code,armrest,back of your radio,engine fuse box ,manual..

where would it be in the back of the radio and how would i be able to see it?

by removing it, there is a thread about how to remove the radio. you going to have to search..did you lose your radio code? and you cant seem too find your code in the spot i said? if you cant you goin to have to get the back of the radio to get the serial # off it and call acura for the code,they will ask for your vin #. or go to ebay and they can unlocked the radio for you but they charge

yea i had the code on a piece of paper but i cant find it anywhere now. i will be changing out the deck in about 2 weeks so idk if i should just wait or what?

okay i found the code it was in my house.

i unplugged the battery and the light is now off

for others in this bind: In the passenger footwell is a fuse block- find the one marked CLOCK and remove it for a few minutes-
thats the secret backup power to the ECU and will reset all master warnings and lights.
CEL is a warning of something- get the codes read!- but they will need to show up again now that it was reset

the light came on because i unplugged like the throttle positioning sensor when i was doing the coolant bypass so the light didnt mean anything
