Angry Car wont start!!

Once again my car wont start. I turn the key and nothing happens, no click, no screeching, nothing. Everything works electronically so i don't think its the battery. Could it be the alternator or the starter?

If absolute silence (no sharp click from the starter), you have one of following:
1) a bad connection to one of battery posts, (most likely problem)
2) a bad keyswitch that is not activating the starter solenoid (possible but less likely)
3) a bad gear shift selection switch (computer thinks gear shift is not in N or P) (possible but not likely)
4) Starter is completely dead; most likley open solenoid since no click. (Possible but not likely)

If battery is charged (12.6V), then alternator is not the problem. Starter could be the problem, see above. The 2.5TL starter is pretty tough to remove/install, but is possible to DIY if you're determined.

good luck

Shit, my post didn't show up. I posted 1 minute after yours, hehe. Do why Texas said, as that's what my post was about.

~Cheers~

thanx for your advice. i haven't fix my problem yet, but ur suggestions seems accurate. i dont really know any mechanic i can trust and since the car wont start i cant bring it anywhere. i made someone try to start the car while i listened under the hood and i did hear 1 click, from the starter i assume. i wanted to bang it but i cant locate exactly where it is, and if its under the engine, i dont know how to bang it with a hammer because there isnt enough room to manuever. Is banging the starter a possible solution? bang it hard or just tap it? should i hear more clicks if that is working?

You should hear a click every time the keyswitch is turned to Start. Starter is under the manifold and a bit of trouble to access and remove. I did this w/ my son's help several months ago.

Banging on it might or might not enable a start. Once solenoid contacts are gone, it may not engage the starter. A rebuilt or used starter is the solution, but you will need some installation support unless you want to diy.

good luck
