recently my car battery died so i bought a new one but it seems as if the same issues are arising again! My rpm fluctuates under 1 when im idle and sometimes when i speed up my car speed guage isnt showing me the correct speed it fluctuates as well then the abs comes on and off sometimes u hear a clicking from the engine and then it stops. What might be the cause i asked a friend of mines and he said the alternator. Any other idea?

 

An alternator w/ damaged rectifier will put out enough voltage to charge the battery, but may cause problems w/ electronics. You need to have a alternator test performed by a good auto electrical shop.

Another possibility is a bad battery connection either positive or negative. Also check primary ground connections to engine and body frame from battery.

well i found out that it is the alternator but how much shood it cost me i got an estimate for 390 i was like wtf

 

Remove the alternator yourself and take to an electrical shop for a rebuild. Cost should be <$100 to replace rectifier and voltage regulator. You shouldn't need any other parts such as bearings, rotor, field, etc.

u got that rite it was the rectifier and regulator damn thing costing me $200 to fix as we speak including parts an i got a new fan belt as well
