97 TL 2.5 and P1359
Hello,
I was wondering if you guys could help me with this. I have a 1997 2.5 TL. My MIL came on a while back and I brought it to a mechanic to get the codes read and reset. The scanner came back with a bad O2 sensor(P0144 i think) and another code which I forgot. They said that code(the one I forgot) meant I had a misfire in cylinder 2. I changed my plugs, and checked my spark plug wires for too much resistance(they were fine) and left it at that. Recently I have had trouble starting the car, sometimes a click, sometimes no sound at all(battery is fine, battery cables are a little dirty but there is not significant voltage drop at the ends). I assumed it was the starter and went out and got a replacement, which I havent installed yet. I also decided to scan my ECU again(I have a scantool.net unit), and I got the O2 sensor code(i need to change this, just havent gotten around to it) and P1359(this is Acura specific). I looked up that code(P1359), its means "Crankshaft Position/TDC/Cylinder Position Sensor Connector Disconnection". I havent had a chance to test the CPS yet(I don't even know where to look, Chiltons says its near the crankshaft timing cover, dont know where that is either), but I am wondering:
a. The misfire which the mechanic picked up when I had them read it is probably due to a bad CPS, correctt?
b. Could a bad CPS be causing my hard starts?
c. This code mentions the TDC too, I am pretty sure that the TDC sensor and the CPS are not the same thing, tell me if I am wrong.
d. Where is this sensor exactly?
I havent had a chance to test my starter yet(its a pain to get to, under the intake manifold), but I am wondering, before I mess with the starter, should I test/replace this sensor first?
TIA,
Elazar
