Accessing Spark Plugs
Accessing Spark Plugs
I have a '96 TL 3.2. I hadn't need to work on it till now. I always owned and worked on older vehicles in the past. I decided to change spark plugs for the first time. Now for a silly question, How do I access the spark plugs?
you need a long socket wrench to access them..also some time there a hassle they never stick to the socket..so i try using a tool or a stick and place a tiny magnet and pull it up.
i forgot the tool size..

I am assuming you already know how to get the coil packs off the plugs? First remove those then you just need a deep socket with an extension to remove the actualy plugs. To REPLACE the plugs, cut a 12" length of garden hose, stick the plug in one end and use that to thread the plug. This will ensure you don't strip the threads on the head as the plug will just spin in the hose instead of x-threading the head.
When the plug is threaded all the way in, (you should be able to tell if it's threading properly or not...) then just tighten the plug until you feel it snug (usually about 3/4-1 1/4 turn). You can only really tighten plugs once as the washers on them are designed that way.

Dont forget to you gotta take the engine cover off first

To take thecoils you need a 8mm wrench i think and for the spark plugs you need a 5/8 and a extension for the wrench and also if you go to any autoparts they now have this kind of wrench for spark plugs it has like a plastic inside to hold the spark plugs
