The SRS light just came on. Does anyone know what can cause this and any possible fixes? The car has just over 300k miles but is still running strong.

I have a first gen (1997) 3.2TL and our MES reset yellow plug is not the one plugged next to the fuse box!!

See image below for the correct location. Just remove the 2 screws to detach the cover hiding this and it's a breeze after that.
Hope this helps, I was running in circles with all the other pictures/locations posted for similar models.

To reset the SRS light:

1. Bend a paper clip into a 'U' shape to create a loop

2. Disconnect the yellow plug shown below under the steering wheel and insert the paper-clip into the plug that is now hanging there to complete the circuit.

3. Turn the ignition on and the SRS light will stay on for 6 seconds, then go off - disconnect the paper-clip within 4 seconds after that and the light will come back on.

4. Reconnect the paper-clip within 4 seconds and the SRS light will go off again.

5. Within another 4 seconds of it going off, disconnect the paper-clip and the light will blink twice and it will be done.
