1997 3.2 TL oil change
I just bought a 3.2 TL with just over 300k on the original engine. The previous owner told me that using any oil filter other than the oem type can damage the engine and that only 20 w50 in summer and 10 w40 in winter should be used even though the manual recommends 5 w30. Anyone have input on this?

Just stick with 5w30
You'll just waste more gas with 10w

yeah but thats the wrong theory. thicker oil makes it harder to get into certain clearances within the motor. you can do the 10-30 thing but i really would just stay with the 5-30 myself
