Smile legend gs intake

I can get the "type II" intake manifold for $75 plus $25 for shipping. Is it worth the swap to my motor?
It would fit, right?

It is worth it. $100 is not that much for type II IM. You will need new gasket and some injector rings. You will definitely feel the diff.

it is direct swap..

Where does it make the diffetence? More top end, or torque?
I could probably get the cams as well, but they would cost a lot

Ken Or ken1997tl need to chime in about the cams.

I didn't feel any difference at lower rpm but top end is awesome. Mated with a good CAI it is very nice and relatively cheap mod we 3.2er's can do.

The type II intake manifold is beneficial in the aspect that it provides minimal low end torque loss (not noticeable) and noticeable top end horsepower gain. It is a much more open and smooth flowing design.

Type II cams should be used in parallel with Type II ecu and Type II FPR for maximum benefit. But if you've done all that work already on type I heads, you might as well swap to full type II heads and save some hassle. The result of just type II cams alone on a type I motor is unknown. As far as I know, you should expect less low end torque and more top end horsepower if you use the cams, although it doesn't help very much if your shift points are still in accord with the type I setting.

Is there anything i can do to get a little more low-end? I dont really want the noise of a cold air intake.

You will most likely won't feel the difference in the low end. Stock intake is good if you don't want any noice. Just remove resonator for little growl.

Low end loss is negligible. You'll feel a noticeable increase in power past 3900 rpms.

Off topic a bit, but does the tl share a rear sway bar with anything? I'd like to get a better one, if possible
I will have to try removing that silencer

I think Colt had to custom weld the RSB so that it would fit.

Mike, you forget that I have a rear sway bar, and no welding was necessary. The only thing that needed to be done was to slit the new bushings to fit into our factory bracket. The endlinks fit fine.

I'm using a Tanabe one, BTW:

The legend intake is being chem-tanked right now.

Will my old plastic engine cover still go over the new manifold?

Only one side was slightly larger, so no point in switching them out.

Yes, it should be fine since you're still running the original fuel rails, and that's where the cover bolts on.
