Engine Swap

has anyone swapped a j32 engine into a first gen tl? i am thinking about swapping a type-s supercharged one into mine. i've done some research on it and can't find anything. i am also curious to know of there are any after market parts for the j32, like pistons and stuff? any info would be appreciated

i am usually the one that believes that anything is possible... and i guess with enough money, this could be possible... but good luck... take a look at a pic of a 1st gen and a 2nd gen's engine bay... the direction that the engine will show you your first problem...

You want "a little" performance but you want to drop an S/C'd motor in? In any case, as Kam has pointed out, no J-series works. Look into Legend motors as Ken, Cornflake, and I have done, and see how much work is involved. If you're going to have a shop do the work, prepare to shell out about $3000 just for the motor and dropping it in. Forget about wiring as that'll be another $1000 if you don't do the work yourself. Oh, ECU's, and the fact that it's illegal to have a motor older than your car (at least here anyway), will be another hurdle you need to get over.

~Cheers~
