Window tinting

The factory tint just isn't keeping this Texas heat out. I want to get something darker. Probably the legal limit of 35%.

Do you guys suggest getting some reflective stuff or the normal black? My car is black. Reflective is cool looking but I don't think it would look good on a black car.

Also for you H-Towners, does anybody have a place they recommend? How much would this run me about?

May I make a recomendation? This tint is really great for keeping heat out of your car.

The tint is designed at very high protection standards and is made by a company called "Huperoptic". There is really not a % of darkness because of the way it is made. I got the tint becuase I now live in Arizona and with the heat you really good tint. The tint seems to be darker from the outside looking in to the car, especially when it is bright out, but from the inside you don't notice the tints darkness at all.

Some stats on the tint from the manufacture site linked below.
- Up to 70% total solar heat rejection.
- Decreases distracting glare, increasing the overall comfort. (has a polarization type technology)
- Up to 98% infrared light rejection (IR)-the main cause of heat.
- Reflect the heat while allowing the visible light to enter permitting a clear view both day and night.
- Greater than 99% UV light rejection-the main cause of fading, cracking, heat and common hot spots.
- SPF 200 protection from the suns cancer causing rays.
- Helps to hold shattered glass together.
- Helps to lower emissions - helping to protect the environment

You can check out pic of the tint on my car at the link below. I got the Klasse Series Smart Film called "Drei".

Get something dark. I have 15% on my TL. I had 20% on my Accord, and that was pretty dark too

i need to redo my back tint. its bubbling up.. i wouldn't get mirror b/c 1, its ghetto and 2, its illegal. i'd go for the max of 35% and i have no clue on who or where to get tints done in houston. is it okay to just tint only my back window or should i just go ahead and do the whole window? i currently have 15% which i like. i dont like it too dark.

I notice when my windows get dirty you can see the line where whatever it is inside the door rubs on the window. Will this wear a line in the tint on these windows?

get platinum tint it will stick to rear window and not bubble, charcoal eventually will bubble and peal, the platinum uses a different adhesive that sticks well to the rear window it also reflects light very well much better than charcoal, not that expensive either, did my entire car for 250.00 professional installation and done perfectly.

I got 20% on my back three windows...I could legally do 5% here, but my choice was either 20% and be able to see when i'm backing up at night, or 5% looking sweet as hell, and a broken bumper cuz you cant see crap. 20% is ok though...I cant believe you can only do 35% legally, thats not very dark

I have 20% mirror tint on my silver tl. IMO It doesn't look ghetto at all. I actually got quite a few compliments on it because everyone else has the typical black tint on their cars. Since your car is black, it would look better if get black also. Too bad you're not in frisco or else I would of hooked you up to the place where I got mines done at.

tint

I have a 96 3.2tl and need a tint job like no other. I'm living in Tucson and it's too hot. I'm also afraid of the leather getting damaged.

I thought the back windows could legally go limo dark, no? Any info on AZ laws or Cali laws (might be moving) so i dont get one thing, move, and then get ticketed by the po-po

I had CT legal all around on my 92 teg and it wasnt dark enough for out here.

scottsdale's 04 tl looks nice but not that dark?

I can definitely do $75. A friend of mine said $130 and I was prepared to go there (but this was before I came up with the great idea of posting here).

Thanks TooCool. I'll give Sun Tint a call.

I'm with you on the 5%. It's illegal in CT but when I bought the car it had them and the darkness looks badass with the black exterior.
