While we're on the subject, what's the matrix of dots on the top?

surfingscotty, you are right, the black thingy on the bottom of our high mount stop lamp is the antenna, made by Panasonic (who makes our radios). That's the antenna.

I don't have the black thing...antenna is in the rear windshield. It is the upper portion of what in the rest of the windsheild is the rear defroster.

If you put your FM tuner next to your Receiver... you should get good signal still...

<~~~ has fm turner too...

It is the rear lines on the rear windshield... some (mostly) are defrost...

But since the anntena hooks up to the rear of the stereo it should get reception...

I agree. However I too have the antenna lines in my window so maybe it's all part of the system...some type of modulator or something....?

I think that is one of the connectors to the defroster. Got a pic?

Hi,

I am wondering what that black box is too. My buddy told me that is was the antenna, at least the connection for the antenna. I tried to pull the cover off but it wasn't coming off easy.

Does anyone know how to safely take that off?

My reception sucks, I was going to check that first, then try behind the deck.
