tranny slipping - help!
I've had this problem lately with my tranny. I've noticed that when i'm sitting at a stop sign, trying to turn on to fast, busy road... i pull out, give it a good heavy throttle, but not floored...1st...2nd....REVVVVVV.3rd...
it also does it when i'm giving it medium to 75% throttle from a dead stop, trying to go up a steep hill
and i just got my tranny rebuilt last week (it's there again right now, i wouldn't accept it - but they said they can't repeat th problem) with a new torque converter.
anyone have any ideas? please?

Safety Car
Well I spoke with Five Pride, but I'll post my recommendations here just in case somebody else has the same problems.
The first thing would be to ask the tranny shop if they used Honda brand ATF. Honda is just fickle like that. It sounds like a problem with the torque convertor not catching, which definitely points to fluid.
Also, a common problem with rebuilt transmissions is that they let in water. I have seen this happen over and over... All automatic transmissions have a hole to let the transmission breathe. After they get rebuilt, the shop seems to forget replacing vital plastic covers or something. When the car gets into some standing water or if there's a lot of splash up from the road, the fluid can get waterlogged. Check the fluid and see if it looks like thin cough syrup. That's a diluted AT.
