Brake light turns on when I accelerate...
Hey guys...does anyone else's Brake light turn on when you accelerate hard? Mine has been doing this for a little while. The brake fluid level is fine. Anyone have any advice?
Your rear pads are wearing thin. Since the disc brakes are self-adjusting, the ebrake cable is being pulled tighter near the wheels to maintain the same amount of travel at the lever. Weight transfer during hard accelerating pulls on the cable even more and the ebrake light comes on.
Once you change your pads, it will go away.

I had the same problem, but mine is the floater and sensor. Happens all the time, goes on and won't go off until I pop the hod, and open the brake fluid reservoir and close it again, moves the floater and everything is fine.
Hey, I've got a 96' 3.2TL, and mine dont do that....lmfao....i think ur car is just flat out fucked up dude. I've never heard of a break light coming on when hit the gas peddle, get that shit checked dude. Also try takin your foot off the brake while driven..LMFAO!!..that might help a little...

Wackjum was right...I got the rear pads replaced along with the fronts. The problem disappeared.
Sorry sweetpumpy...I don't drive with my foot on the brake DUDE...maybe that's how they do it out in Ohio.

Ha almost funny! Na us Cincinnati folk just drive pure FOOT-2-FLOOR. Plus I've never in my life seen someone accelerate and the brake light comes on... trust me I've seen some many very fast accerations in my time so... srry to dissapoint u.
This is the e-brake engaged warning light on the console, Sweetpump, not the tail lights.
And you obviously have never heard of left foot braking. This is a maneuver that dumps grip onto the front wheels to give them the ability to claw out of tight turns.
-- The 1st gen TL is getting affordable enough that anybody is driving them now. Time to get a new car.

Don't give up the ride cause of a few bad apples Wack. Plus, just look, maybe the car is getting affordable but apparently they don't know how to "accessorize" properly...aftermarket 15's ? I'd rather stay stock than waste money on the same size rim as factory!
You're the voice that keeps me going.
The TL has been an awesome daily driver. I wish I could treat him? her? better by getting rid of the stock rims, but all of my money has been going into car payments.

Haha...Glad to hear that. Although I will never buy 18" Lightweight rims again. Roads in Toronto get too many potholes that never seem to get fixed quick enough. My rims are bent up all over. I'm thinking of going with these BSA's next spring (in 18's again of course) http://www.wheelmax.com/Specials/bsa/304ch.gif in chrome. Gotta get chrome next time fo SHO!!! Do they make 18" spinner kits?
HAHA!
HAHA!
I hear that one. I had 18" Konig Monsoons before I got the Type S rims. Within 2 summers, all 4 rims were bent. I guess that's what happens when you run a 40 series tire on 18's and drive in downtown Chicago!
So when is that new RL coming out???

Yeah, same with Downtown Toronto adn 40 series! I think the new RL is out this fall. It's one helluva ryde man. I just still can't beleive they think a V6 is a good as a V8, an Acura V8 would dessimate in that car. But even still, it's one nice piece of technology.
