man the TL saved my life today.... i just got home from Sears Friends and Family night discount... doing about 80 mph behind a pickup truck in the left laneall of a sudden, he loses his front right wheel... the wheel just came off the damn car and went flying across 4 lanes... all the cars on my right started to swerve to miss the wheel and one guy cut in between me and the pickup that lost its wheel... the pickup quickly comes to a stop and the car that jumped in front of me looks like he is gonna hit him... i am on my brake and went from 80 to about 25 in about no time, check the lane next to me and book around everyone... i wasn't able to stop and go back to check for any injuries but i then called 911 and reported it and told them to send an ambulance just in case... man it was scary... drive safely everyone.. especially at night...

and check your brakes...

Meh, I don't think it had much to do with the TL. Just some good driving... I'm sure you would've been fine in most other cars, too. Gotta pay attention and be ready to do some defensive driving when you have to. Good save.

Blah. That's crappy. Yeah, Acura breaks are good. Well comparing the TL to the Lexus GS...my friends car just felt like it wasn't going to stop. The EL's breaks are my favourite though, they stop on a dime.

I have an 05 6MT and the brakes on that have got me out of a few tight spots due to unpredictable people stopping in the middle of the road for no reason, cutting in front of me and stopping, turning in front of me, etc, etc. Pure Adrenaline is right, the brakes may be good, but a lot of it depends on the driver. A less skilled driver probably wouldn't have been so lucky. Glad your OK!

Glad you're ok! 350Z brakes are good as well. One thing though, my Accord was on Brembos w/ Axxis Ultimate pads, and they stopped so well that it overpowered my tyres. With no ABS in that car, you can kinda guess what happened.

I got similar story.
I was heading back to RI from Boston at night.
On the highway, theres 4 lanes.
I was in the second leftmost lane.
Another guy was in the first leftmost lane.
The guy went pass me, and he was talking on his f*cking cell phone while doing 80+MPH! I was doing 70MPH. There was other cars in back of me too. We were traveling in pack to avoid getting caught speeding.
So then all of a sudden, the guy on the first leftmost lane lost control and was heading into the median ditch. He manage to quickly swerve to the right side towards the second leftmost lane which was the lane Im in. He was in front of me about 20-35 feet, and i saw that it was coming at me. There were cars to my right so I had no choice but to f*cking accelerate which allowed me to pass his car before he landed on my lane. Once his car landed on the lane I was in, the guy in back of me went head on with his car at 45+MPH! I saw it as it all happen in my rear view mirror!

This is a big lesson for me like dont talk on the f*cking phone at high speed , get stability control feature if its an option, and plan ahead when in a pack of what to do in worst case scenerios,and think quick.
