Tint/oxygen sensor
Tint/oxygen sensor
Hey folks.
Just relocated to Tampa FL from Ottawa Ontario Canada.
Can anyone recommend a window tint shop? I work at MacDill AFB.
Just replaced my oxygen sensor today. Pretty easy fix.
Remove the battery (10 mm), remove the battery heat-shield (10 mm), remove the battery tray (12 mm), remove the lower heat shield (10 mm - no need to remove fastners, just loosen), remove the cover plate near the mudflap on the right (10 mm), unplug connector, and remove sensor using the special deep O2 sensor socket (7/8"/22mm).
It was a bit of a pain to remove, but I used a very large extension and breaker bar along with a little more muscle from Joe in the shop to break it free. Just make sure the socket stays seated properly in place so you don't round it off.
I did not bother with the sensor from Acura ($300 and that was with $100 discount). I bought the DENSO OEM from RockAuto. $60 with shipping from NY to FL. Works like a charm. Three differences: the wire is a bit shorter, it lacks the OEM heat shield ring, and it lacks the little plastic bit that clips the harness into the bracket (I used a zip-tie to keep the wire away from the manifold and exhaust). It is my understanding that DENSO also makes the OEM one so it is compatible. The sensor also comes with some anti-seize for the threads!
Car runs great now. More power, smooth idle, and for some reason it shifts better - weird...
Enjoy the weekend!
Chris
