sub box

well, my first attempt at building a sub box, custom, for the trunk is not a complete failure, but will be scrapped. does anyone have a design that they have used that still allows for trunk space? i'm using a 12 driver, just one, and will probably mount an amp and cap on the back of the box. i tried to create a design that fit into the diagonal part of the trunk, near the seats, but that is a hard ass thing to do i found out. of course, this is the first sub box i've ever made and i don't really have all the proper tools to make this go smooth. i have a jig saw and dremmel as my main tools. heh. oh and a drill (but the batteries suck, just another setback).

any suggestions or specifications, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated.

i'm going to take the rest of the wood i have (MDF) to work and use a table saw so i get the perfect cuts, etc. why didn't i do this before and save time, etc? um, i think it's cuz i'm an idiot, but not sure lol.

specs of speaker i'm using:

Rockford Fosgate 12" DVC Power RFP 2218. it requires 1.25 cubic feet of space. the box i was making had about 1.18 or so...which is decent i guess. anyways, thanks! by the way, the box will/should be sealed. any more specs needed just ask! thanks again all.

ps - should be in audio forum? unsure, but it's semi-specific to this gen.

I made a reverse wedge that goes inbetween the wheel well thingies. so that the 12" faces the back of the trunk. problem is that it tips over, need to brace it up with some strapping or something. it was around 1.25ish cubic feet and the sub should face the back and the port was pointing up. probibly the best and easiest use of space if done correctly. Dont have exact dimentions but could get them if needed.

well i'm wanting to stay with the sealed box, but that sounds like what i am/was going for with this box. i'm going to redo my design and hopefully use a table saw and more of the RIGHT tools for the job. but yeah, if you have em and it worked well, lemme know. not sure why it would tip over, but how deep did you make it? mine is 10 inches deep...plus the board, so it's like 11.5 inches from front to back outside wood.
