Speaker time

i know that everyone has their own ideas on what sounds good, etc. and i did see some people talking about what they had put in their cars. i'm looking for some good door speakers. i listen to all types of music, but mostly rap and harder rock.

i was looking at the JL Audio TR650-CXi 6.5" but they are hard to find cept online and run about $110 or so before shipping.

then i was looking at the Sony XS-V1635X which runs like $100 from Crutchfield.

so i'm basically wondering what sounds good in our cars (overall quality) and if there are any brands that people would suggest. also any good online sites or anything that i can look to for good service, quick shipping, etc. thanks all!

I got 6 x 5 Nakamichi's off of Ebay. Apparently they are considered the best sounding speakers

i assume you meant 6.5s but those particular ones don't handle enough power. i need at least 50 watt RMS. they will be amped and that will be the power going to them.

I'm using Kaptin Pro's up front in my TL. Got them on sale here for $160 CDN from my local shop. Been in the stereo game a long time, they're actually pretty good speakers, I'm dying to get my hands on a set of Focal's.....

not to be "stereo"-typical (ha...k i suck), but why do the 'best' speakers always seem to have the oddest names? and i've never even heard of rainbow. maybe i'm out of the loop?

most people have never heard the name either. Just like some of the best headunits are Denon headunits which go for about 2 grand but are so simple in design.
