You might want to drain/refill transmission fluid and differential fluid in addition to changing the oil and plugs if you don't know when the last it was changed.

Diff drain for sure. With the high mileage it probably hasn't been done ever so enjoy the smell! Hook up the dome light mids and put in some subs. This car has great stock sounds!

Getting a media receiver and will chunk my head unit. Only thing is that the dome speakers will not work with aftermarket. But I will have a USB input! Finally into the 21st century!

They CAN work. I finally found the second thread from 2007:

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tl-1996-1998-101/how-hook-up-dome-tweeters-new-radio-618392/

The Radio Shack part number is in there, too.

~Cheers~

yeah my domes work great. and I have an aftermakert double din touchscreen Clarion unit. the domes paired with my SR60 Boston Acoustic components sound hella bad ass. Friends who get in my ride think all that comes from the components, I don't point out the dome speakers lol.

so another post mentioning seafoam...is it worth the try?

i got high mileage so I'm guessing this removes debris and junk clogged in pipes? I'm just guessing here, I havent done a proper search on what this does

yea I was surprised I had speakers in the dome lights, thats a pretty cool feature. Im looking into getting rid of the stock radio and getting a screen put in

guys have you ever looked at the msds sheet for seafoam? there is nothing in it. there is also plenty of vids showing scoped motors before and after seafoam with no change (no idea how legit they are) the only snake oil i can find that has anything in it is the baerryman b12. but thats just based on msds sheets.

but it turns out i need to replace my cat. conv. shift sol, and wheel speed sensor just for starters i think. i also need to clean out the egr tube. so a few qustions on these points if you guys dont mind.

1. can i change the cat myself? and is it ok to use a universal?
2. how hard is it to do the wheel sensor?
3.whats the best way to clean the egr tube??
