Shift Knob for '97 3.2 TL

Ok, since we have the auto shifters that you just push down, could we pretty much put any shift knob on the market in place of our stock shift knobs?

yes but check the threading of the bolts. i'm not sure if they're all the same but it never hurts to check.

I'll have to take a look...I've never done that before, does our stock shifter just screw off...? I would look but I'm visiting my mom in Florida right now (great time for a visit huh), and my car is in Minneapolis right now.

u mean just unscrew counterclockwise and shift knob will come right off - i'm assuming this is how u also get to the shift plate if u wanted to replace it with a chrome one from an RL?

yes.. any aftermarket stick shift knob will work... when you buy aftermarket knobs, they usually come with plastic inserts that have different thread patterns. for me, i have a carbon fiber knob that was off a 5speed civic..

AWESOME! Momo here I come. I dont know if everyone agree's, but I want a momo parking break and a momo shift knob, I think they make the best, classiest parts...especially for our cars which already have the nice touch of class.

Do you pry the shift plate off to put on the woodgrain replacement?

Yeah, you cut off the stock boot to put on an aftermarket one. It will work, I did it to my Integra.

I've been thinking about it for a long time now, i just might try this in the next few weeks, i'll keep you all posted if I do. I hate the look of our break handle, its shitty plastic that doesnt even really fit right. 1 of the few flaws of our car, my buddy's '92 Vigor even have a leather boot on his ebrake handle.
