Reprogram headunit
Hello Guys,
I am new here. i just replaced the battery on my 1996 2.5 TL and the headunit does not work anymore. It shows the message (CODE.E). Anybody knows how to solve this problem.

i believe you need to enter the radio code for the headunit... all in all if you can i would go aftermarket for the headunit, since the stock ones arent that great at all... but if you do decide to keep it, just enter the radio code, and it shoudl work...
If you dont know your radio code, just look in the glove box, and there should be a sticker there somehwere, not exactly in the glove box, but stuck somewhere on the glovebox. If its not there, pull out our coin tray and look under that, or in the spot it was in.
If you can't find the code anywhere on your car, you'll have to go to a dealership to get a code. I believe they charge ~$70-90 but if you go in with the serial number and proof of ownership, they should be able to give it to you for free. To get the serial number, check the "How to replace the headunit" sticky at the top of this section for one method of getting to it (I believe there is another).
