Removing Cat

If I remove the Cat on my car with it throw a CEL. Theres a guy here in chico that will build a straight pipe for me so that when it comes to doing emission's next june that i can just slap that back on and pass.

Yes, it will present a code when rear O2 sensor is missing or disabled. Even if O2 sensor is in place, it may sense that converter is not present and set P0420 "Low Catalytic Converter Efficiency". If converter is working correctly, very little performance difference w/o the converter.

good luck

So with removing that cat even though i will now have a free flowing exhaust there wont be much performance gain from that.

I was reading on the legend forums and i came across some one on there that said they had a odoII workaround? What is that and what would be the reason?

And also I was reading that they did a egr block off plate what is the reason for doing that except for the cut off of the hot gas going back in?

OBDI EGRs only check if the EGR is there. OBDII checks for presence as well as flow. Block off plates will not work for us, otherwise I would've put one on already.

Many people have done it. They can do it because they're OBDI. I thought we covered that before...

if you do it, why not do a dyno pull before and after? then you can see the improvements, if any real gains, to show if it was worth it for you.

RL engines are OBD2, Legends are OBD1. As mentioned above.
