as far as i can remember (i did this like 3 years ago)
there is a carpeted part under your radio (between the radio area and the ashtray/lighter area)
pull out the carpeted area.. its hooked on by two clips.. one on either side

then use your fingers to reach back behind all the wires and stuff.... until you feel the back of the radio
then just push it out real hard..
as far as i remember its not hooked on by any screws.. just push hard cuz its stuck in real good

good luck

I don't know if its anything like the '98 models. But you have to remove the wood trim first. It will expose the rest after you do so.

By the way, why don't you take this opportunity and upgrade your sound system?? Maybe a good idea though!

Just a suggestion!!!
