Radio

hi,
On the radio, theres 2 harnesses. A blue one and a gray one.
Im interested in the gray harness. I was wondering if anyone know the colors for the speakers. Also, hoes the tweeter have its own wire? Or does it share with the 4 main speakers? Thanks.

Also, if anyone ever hooked up a 4-channel amp, I have some dump questions to ask.

if you buy a harness from say....best buy or circuit city it tells u all the colors on the back and wat they are. and yea the tweeters on the roof (and near window?) have their own harness and will not work if u change out the HU, unless u splice them with the front speakers like some have done.

yes, but this isn't really recommended as they are a CENTER channel and should not be just taped in as this will play them too loud and affect your imaging.

I changed the tweeters near the windshield and it works fine. Didn't have any problem even with the after market Head Unit. Now, the mids on the ceiling, that I'm not sure if it's working. But I'm sure it does.

Blue harness is for the midrange speakers (in the roof) only. They are 2 ohm instead of 4 and act as a center channel as mentioned.

hi,
Warning, this is a stupid question.
What do I do if I were to buy new tweeters to replace the old?
Do I just splice the tweeter wires and connect them with the front speakers?
thanks in advance.

Yeah. Just splice them into the harness where you removed the old tweeter pair.
They will remain on the same line as the front speakers.

As for the roof speakers. If you tie them into the main speaker line they will become overbearing. And your sound stage will be destroyed.

I think that is why they were separated in the first place.
