Does any of your guys tl idle at 1500 when you start up your car and it its in park? My car idles at 15 grand then when i put it in gear it drops to 11 grand.....Only after driving it for a couple of minutes does the idle drop below 1 grand....(this is normal idle) *also i'm not touching the gas pedal when it revs at 15 grand.....
Any help will do.....Should i take it in to Acura? My car is still under warranty...........or is it a problem that is able to be fixed in my garage........thanks in advance......

 

Does it do that only if its cold? Mine idles higher when its cold but I dont remember how high. It sounds normal to me.

 

Yeah, it revs higher when it is cold but it also revs high kinda high when it is warm....Do you have any idea what is the cause of this......

 

Mine does it too when its warming up. After it warms up it drops below 1000. When I put it in drive it drops to like 600rpm

 

It might just need an idle adjustment. Take it to the dealer or a mechanic shop. It shouldnt be expensive.

 

speaking of idle, i have a problem with mine. everytime i start my car to get the engine warmed up, my muffler rattles for like 5-10 seconds then it stops. has this happened to any of you? im thinking its my subs in my trunk thats causing it. i mean, i dont turn on my subs when i start my car but im thinking that the rattling of the trunk, due to my subs hitting, it causes the hinges of the muffler or SOMETHING to rattle. any ideas???

 

I herd of subs makeing the hinges in your doors loose, so i guess it could apply to the exhaust.......By the way thanks for your guys help......

 

check your O2 sensor at the intake...same stuff happened to me.............aloha.......

 

that is very normal... cold engines always run higher that is the point of warming up the car... while u warm up the car for a few min u can see the tach actually drop down.. when car is at idle and warmed up car should be around 700... if it isn't then the timing should get checked with a tune up or just adjust the RPM screw on the throttle...

 

wow you guys are idling high. after running the car for a little bit my car usually idles at 400 rpm.
