Plans for next mod - tail lights

Well, I have an idea that should get put into action soon, I am going to tint part of the tail lights hoepfully. I have the paint, I just need the time, but this week is pretty free for me so we'll see how it goes.

What do you guys think?

Looking at those pictures there isn't a huge difference, but I think that is where I will start from, and go just a tad bit darker as long as there isn't any problem with not enough light showing through. I won't go crazy dark though, just subtly modded.

I have done it and it works. Just be careful with the painting, take your time. I ended up getting the Inspires and sold my painted tails. All in all, just paid $200.00. I was able to sell my painted tails for $150.00.

i like it, but not as much as inspire taillights. if i would do that, i would only do it to the reverse lights and the turn signals. i can't tell from the pic if you darkened the brake light or not. be sure to take pics when your done. i'd like to see them with the turn signals going and the reverse light on...

Yeah, I like the inspires, but its a matter of cost, less than $10 versus a few hundred $ for inspires, I've got college to pay for next year, so I would rather keep my money spent on my car relatively practical (carputer/small things like tinted tails) instead of things like rims and inspires.

In the second picture I didn't darken the red part of the tail at all, just the turn signal/reverse light. I think doing the entire thing would be too much and look sort of ricer in a way.

I'll definately take my time, I think I am doing it tomorrow if the weather is on my side.

I might do the front corner lights too but I'm not sure, I've got to do some photoshopping first.

Those Inspire tail lights suck. I'm sorry but I don't see why you'd pay so much for clear turn signal...

BTW dude, might wanna cover up your plate number.

I don't think the tail lights suck at all, I think Inspires look clean, but it is a lot of money to spend for such a small difference.

I'm not too worried about my plate number, I don't have anything special that someone would want to track me down for.

Ok, I guess I sound a little off there...

What I meant to say was that for the price, I'd expect a much bigger difference. Maybe something that was fully transparent (like the tail lights of the newer Acuras) lens in which you can see the reflectors inside.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying, especially being at such a young age where the money takes longer to earn.

personally i think the inspires make a world of difference. Also if my wife (whom is not a car fanatic) notices the difference between the inspires and the stock ones, too me that is enough proof that they actually do make a difference...LOL

Yeah, I finished it I think the day I posted, but have not been able to get any good pictures. I went darker than the PS and think it looks pretty good. I also tinted the stock corners extremely dark, almost black, and I think they look good too.

I'll try and get the car cleaned up and get some good pictures of it for you guys.
