Anyone else had luck with any kind of performance chips? Ken, I know you have the Bayou chip. Did you put that in right when you put in the Type II ECU or did you drive the Type II ECU for a while first w/o thi Bayou chip? I'm just curious if it actually does anything. Where did you get it from and how much? I might just order my Type II ecu and get it chipped before I put it in the car, but ONLY if it's worthwhile. Any one know of any other chips out there?! Or anyone had any luck with custom programmers?

 

I drove it for about 2 days without the Bayou chip. The Bayou chip adds a bit of performance, I felt its worth it, others do not.

 

Did you get it from the guy on the Legend forum? How much was it? Core charge, or does it just piggyback?

 

eBay. I got it for a steal. I'll have to dig out my receipts but I got it for under 300, I'm thinking 200 or so (?)

holy old thread... the chip is OBD I cause they have type II swaps...

 

It wont work unless you have an OBD I system (Pre 1996) with a C32A6 (same as our TL motor) or C32A5 motor (Type II)

 

I own 2

1997 Acura TL 3.2 w/ premium package, motor is a hybrid of my '97 and a C32A5 motor, OBD I system, bayou performance chip.

My other car is a 2005 Acura TL 5 speed auto.

pretty sure ken just recently traded in his 2nd gen for his 05...

 

I had an '03 but traded that in for an '05
