Our stock rims?

are they clear coated or not? those csx rims were sold so im thinkin to forget bout changing rims till next year if im still going to have this car, but in the mean time i want to restore my stock ones. I have been searching every for instructions on how to restore scratches and stuff like a diy kinda thing and i dont know the stock wheels have clear coat or its just metal and what kind of metal do we have? thx

Its alloy. There is a ton of work that goes into fixing wheels.

I saw a thread on it on another site. I will look and see if I can find it.

It is clear coated. If you have oxidation on the wheels you will see the clearcoat peeling off.

i will post the pictures tomorrow i took them. after looking closely yea they are coated, so im thinking to just take off the clear coat and re coat them because i dont have any physical damage no scratches of curbs and stuff like that.

like to match our paint is there a special paint...will the regular paint chip or peel

Over time the paint will chip and peel. You have to do like a to put a TON of work into them if you want them to look right.

can you tell if its just clear coat thats messed up? i think it is i just want to take it off and put new clear coat it would look like brand new might do it tomorrow.

Yup, try clear coating it, should improve the looks. Post pics after.

this will have to wait another week atleast its raining where i live storming and i cant do this in condos garage...hopefully next weekened

I know a place near me that powdercoats rims for $50 a piece.

That is dirt cheap. I'm thinking about getting my calipers powdercoated.
