Talking Ok guys, I'm working on a FAQ for the forum...

I'm typing up some good info for a FAQ..

Let me know what kinds of things you think should be covered and I'll put that in.

Right now I have common questions and problems/concerns down.

Information such as Engine codes (C32A6 and G25) and chassis codes (UA2 and UA3) and little tidbits (such as the digital signal processor, 2 midrange speakers, blue wiring harness, the fact that the 2.5 engine is a bit underrated, etc.)

Feel free to add ideas.. its YOU guys who make this forum what it is.

I think we need speaker specs. We should pool our knowledge and compile a comprehensive list of the speaker size and wattages. This isn't only self serving I promise!

I also think that we should have the stats (hp,tq, curb weight, as much as we can find) of both the 2.5 and 3.2 listed, and what option packages came with it (a lot of people didn't know some of the 2.5's were made with cloth seats for example).

Good points.

Speakers as far as I know.. are the following:

The standard audio system in all TL models is an 8-speaker unit with AM/FM stereo/cassette and compact disc player. Speaker selection and location were determined on the basis of the best sound propagation and imaging. There are two 6x9-inch full-range speakers on the rear deck, one 6.5-inch full-range speaker mounted on each front door, two 1.5-inch tweeters on the dash top and two 2-inch midrange speakers located in the headliner.
I have no idea what the power ratings are.

As for weights and such, I find Hondanews.com to be somewhat useful there.. I've got the info on HP/TQ, weight, dimensions.

As far as options go, thats a good question. I know what the premium packages add for the most part, but perhaps we can do a few comparions between premium/non and 2.5/3.2 TLs. Also Canadian models are obviously slightly different, so we'll keep that in mind. And of course for 1998, the premium packages were dropped and everything became standard (with the exception of TCS which became an option for the 3.2)

I'll see you at the quarter mile

j/k

I'm actually jealous of the 2.5's steering/handling

Plus the engine is quite nice in that car

can you add some jdm stuff in there too?

...like how our TLs are equivalent to the Saber and note the difference between the Inspire/Saber.

...jdm parts: inspire tails, black headlights, front lip.

how about how to's?

...like the foglight mod

...chroming out the shift plate, (ken how much did u pay for ur 04 RL shift plate? ...i think i'm going to need a new one because mine is all scratched up)

oh and i also think it would be cool if we have a list of all the performance parts for our cars because performance parts are very limited.

intake: weapon-r intake
lowering springs: eibach springs, goldline springs? i don't know if that's the name of the springs ...mike has them.
mufflers: universal

mention about tlxracer's bodykit & eyelids... the only descent looking bodykit available in the states.

maybe you should add in the extended warranty for emissions? ...i know it'll help out alot of people if they know about the warranty

how about little known facts: like how our cars are 100% made in Japan?

that's all i can think of right now....

Yeah, at least here, you could have gotten a 2.5 TL WITH leather and heated mirrors, but WITHOUT a sunroof or heated seats. (that's how mine is).

i'm guessing that is for the 3.2. is there a big diff in the 2.5? i'm guessing the weight would be different just at least due to the different engine.

The weight is different and so are the dimensions. The two cars have a COMPLETELY different front end, with different lengths and widths.

I hate to say it but the 3.2's advantages are minimal... but a 3.2 is much smoother than the 2.5.

I think there should be...
-how to remove yellow foglight condoms
-how to do the H3C to H3 mod
-how to do the foglights/parking lights only (no headlights) mod
-how to fix slow, squeeky windows
-how to fix D4 light
-how to do the LED gauge light mod

Oh yeah, for the audio equipment specs, check this thread I made a long time ago: https://acurazine.com/forums/automotive-news-6/honda-extends-warranty-odyssey-tl-transmissions-110317/

Ken, some of the power ratings for the stock speakers can be found. I believe these were taken off the speakers itself and some measurements across the cap. Dunno if this helps any.

Or how to convert to regular H3 bulbs (which i just did today) would be good seeing as H3C bulbs are hard to find and expensive.

I'd like to see a list of recommended wheel/tire sizes that don't rub.
