oil is leaking

For some reason, the oil from underneath is leaking. It just started leaking and my next due date for an oil change is another 1000 miles. It did not leak before and is starting to leak now. I look beneath the car to see where its coming from but its useless. It is wet around the oil pan bolt as well as the surrounding area. What could be the problem?

I am at 99,4xx miles right now.

most likely the oil pan gasket
could also be the oil pan drain plug

It is probably the oil pan.
If it's valve cover, you can do it yourself.
I bought the valve cover gasket kit last week for $20.00 which includes, valve cover gasket, spark plugs seals and washers for the bolts.
Took me 30 minutes.

Did they change the metal gasket on the drain plug that your supposed to replace with every oil change on honda/acuras. Overtime, the gasket can get warped and cause a bit of oil to leak. Had this happen on my accord when I forgot to replace the gasket and reused the old one when I did my first oil change on it. Now I replace them every oil change. The gasket costs a few cents from autozone - buy a bunch and keep em handy.

I've an oil leak similar to yours. I've noticed that it's because of the oil pan drain plug washer. Acura sells plastic washers these days. Whenever I use those washers the oil leaks a bit, quite slowly actually. If I use metallic washers from a place like pep boys, there is no leakage.
