New member here... Help with Alarm remote

Hey Guys.. I'm new here an to the Acura TL world.
I have a 1996 3.2 TL Silver with 40K miles "Loaded" and let me tell you I LOVE IT
I have one quick question.. I lost the alarm remote few weeks ago and I had to buy one. The dealer programed it for me. But in some cars I noticed that you can program the factory alarm to lock all doors when the cars starts to move or open all doors when you push the unlock botton once and stuff like that. I have the factory alarm in my car and I have to press the unlock button once to unlock the driver's door and 2 times to unluck all doors. My question is: is that all that you can program the alarm to do or is there some other things that it can do?
Any imput will be apreciated. Thanks..
BTW: I live in Northern, VA... any body in this area?? Are there any Meets around here? Thanks.

welcome to the board Oliver. Not many of us have remotes for our factory alarm... some didn't even know there was a remote for the alarm! but its all good, if you plan on getting an aftermarket alarm the your factory alarm is no good. im planning on getting an clifford alarm as soon as i get my stereo system in.

I think there are some east coast members up in here.. you got any mods on your ride yet? post pics..

Thanks for your reply guys...
Yeah.. I think I'll get an aftermarket alarm. I was also considering the clifford alarm.. I heard is really good.
So far I don't have anymods on the car, it is bone stock. It did come with all the options though... I simply love the car. Don't have any pics yet.. but I'll post them as soon as I get them. Any sugestions on mods for the car??
Thanks..

Welcome Oliver. I have both the factory alarm and an aftermarket alarm. At first I thought it was redundant, but later found it to be useful.

The aftermarket alarm is way more sensitive and I use that most of the time. Sometimes I want to keep false alarms to a minimum and arm the factory alarm. High risk areas get the double treatment.

BTW my factory remote is set up the same as yours.

yeah, this site has some aftermarket goodies for our car. not as much as the later generations though. You could click on the "accessory" or "lights" tabs on this site to purchase stuff. its an awsome site..

clifford was bought out by DEI, the maker of Viper alarms. so, im not too sure if clifford alarms are still available.
