Hey guys, im looking for a cheap alarm or keyless entry system, i had one that orignally came with my car (Pursuit) piece of crap, the siren stoped working and the kill switch doesnt let my car start. so i removed it. i saw on ebay a couple of cheap alarms some with remote start. $30-$50 bucks, i wanted to know if i get one and bring it to a place to be installed, will it be cheaper and better then buying it all at an alarm shop.

 

if i were u i would not go cheap on the alarm... for one thing it will probably do the same thing as ur pursuit did in a couple years... i would just try to find a place that does it and pay them to do it... i have seen cheap alarms on ebay installed by pros not even work correctly... but just my .02... if u still want to go cheap then ebay then install shop...

 

I bought my alarm off ebay and then had some guy do it for me. Had it for about a year and a half now and it works great! If your gonna buy it off ebay just buy it brand new and it should be ok. I have an Aladdin 2000 alarm btw.

 

yea.. i have a PHAAAAAAAAAAT alaram on my car..... its the CLIFFORD MATRIX RS 3.5 its a 2way remote... that notifies you if any doors, trunk, hood is open.... i also added an motion sensor... it acts like a invisible motion sensor around your car... so lets say i move around my car for more then 30 seconds when the car is armed.. the alarm goes off by itself... witout touching the car.... it also is GPS enabled....... 4 days ago i added an audible senor..... that senses sounds.... it can sense if a glass breaks.. or if glass touches metal.. the sound it makes.... would trigger the alarm.... the retail for that alarm is $600..... thank god i work at BEST BUY... so igot it for like 150.... i can maybe hook some of you guys up wit alarms n stuff....

 

could you get me either a viper or crimestopper alarm?

 

 

I have an audiovox alarm with a pager, the thing works wonderfully, I can start my car and roll my windows up and down with it. If I were you, I would go to a shop and spend the extra cash on a good one. I have a friend that owns a stereo shop and he says he charges a lot more for installation on cheap alarms like you see on ebay...

 

I picked up a CodeAlarm 20way SICK-ASS alarm in Florida a few months ago. Just haven't had time to install it! Remote start, pager, anti-carjacking, err'yting! Just been waiting for the nice weather to install everything. Gotta get a window module afterm but that's it, prolly do it next weekend, whatever day there is no hockey game!! (As long as the Leafs make it past game 4, which I KNOW they gonna!) GO LEAFS GO!!

 

Oh yeah, my original thing was that I got that alarm for $140 at a flea market down there, called the Swap Shop. Anyways, proably retails for about $500 cdn up here, so I got a good deal.... Check out places like that if there are any in your area...

 

i have a viper 6000 remote start. i got it off a friend for $100 installed and everything. alarm alone goes for $250

 

wow.. i found out some GREAT NEWS TODAY..... im gonna rewire my alarm and add extra features.... some guy was like..... 250.... when i went to work today... i stopped by the INSTALL BAY.. and they were like..... 45 bux.. for employees... i was like WHOAAAA....and today i found out.... that i can get the new KENWOOD KVT-715DVD stereo.... touch screen DVD fully loaded... mp3 and all that.... including navigation... for only 800... retails at 1500.... so im thinking of just redoing my whole audio...... for like 150... with new wires and everything...
